1.2 City Recognition <br />The City Manager, or any person or organization duly <br />authorized by the City Manager, is the representative of <br />the City of San Leandro, hereinafter referred to as the <br />"City" in employer-employee relations. <br />Section 2. Union Securit <br />A. Dues Deduction <br />1. The City agrees to deduct, in two equal deductions <br />per month, dues for employees in the Unit and such <br />other deduction as approved by the Union Executive <br />Board and authorized in writing by the individual <br />employees concerned on forms currently accepted by <br />the Finance Director for such deductions. <br />2. The City agrees to provide the Union the name, <br />department, job class, and deduction status of all <br />unit employees on a monthly basis. <br />B. Maintenance of Membershi <br />1. Union membership is not a mandatory condition of <br />employment for any employee covered by this <br />agreement. However, any employee covered by this <br />agreement who is an Union member, or becomes an <br />Union member, shall continue to pay to the Union <br />those dues or fees regularly charged members of the <br />Union in good standing for the life of this <br />agreement. <br />2. Every employee who is a member of the Union shall <br />have the right to withdraw from membership during <br />the last twenty (20) days of this Agreement. An <br />employee who has properly withdrawn membership as <br />provided herein shall not be subject to the <br />provisions of section B.1. <br />C. Service Fee <br />1. Deductions <br />Pursuant to State law, Unit employees have by secret <br />ballot, voted to implement Agency Shop. <br />2 <br />
