locations of the respective divisions for sworn employees of the Police Department not <br />later than November 1, to be completed by December 1, for the next calendar year. <br />In the event one (1) or more municipal holidays falls within a vacation leave, such days <br />shall not be charged as vacation leave and the vacation leave shall be extended <br />accordingly for those employees eligible for such holidays. <br />Upon the approval of the Police Chief, vacation leave maybe accumulated tv a maximum <br />of two (2) years' vacation entitlement and taken in one (1) calendar year. Such approval <br />shall be recorded in the employee's personnel file. An employee who fails to take <br />accrued vacation leave within the time herein prescribed shall cease accruing vacation <br />leave until vacation usage reduces below the prescribed limit. <br />An employee who is on Leave Without Pay status for one (1) through fifteen (15) <br />calendar days shall continue to accrue vacation leave for the pay period. <br />An employee who is on Leave Without Pay status beyond fifteen (15) calendax days shall <br />not accrue vacation leave for those subsequent pay period(s). <br />Vacation leave will again accrue when the employee has returned to paid status for the <br />full pay period. <br />Upon being separated from City service, an eligible employee shall be entitled to <br />compensation for any accrued but unused vacation calculated at the rate of pay at the time <br />of termination. <br />The following vacation leave provisions do not apply to hourly or part-time employees. <br />13.2 Vacation leave for each full-time employee shall be accrued and credited for the pay <br />period in which it is earned. <br />A.n employee holding afull-time position shall be entitled to a vacation leave which shall <br />consist of five-sixths (5/6) work days for each full calendar month of service performed. <br />In the year in which an employee holding afull-time position completed five (5) full <br />years of City service, such employee shall be entitled to fifteen-and three-quarters (l5 3/4 ) <br />work days of vacation for service performed. For each full year of full-time City service <br />completed thereafter, three-quarters (3/a) of a work day vacation shall be added up to a <br />maximum of twenty-five (25) work days of vacation.' <br />13.3 If a member is on medical leave as a result of an on-duty injury or illness, the member's <br />vacation accrual shall continue. Upon return to duty, the member shall utilize the <br />vacation accrued while on medical leave within. twelve (12) months of return to duty. <br />The vacation utilization shall be in accordance with established department vacation sign- <br />up procedures. <br />10 <br />
