The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest <br />listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Chris Parman, Aide to Assemblymember Mary Hayashi <br />, addressed the City Council, <br />commenting on the proposed fee to be charged to Flex Shuttle riders. Mr. Parman stated that <br />Assemblymember Hayashi requested, and received approval for, a funding increase from the <br />Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA); however the Flex Shuttle <br />budget would still be about $66,000 short. Mr. Parman commented that the City has the <br />authority to use Local Streets and Roads funds to keep the Shuttle service free to its users. <br /> <br />Ted Kai, San Leandro resident <br />, addressed the City Council, expressing concern regarding <br />the lack of response to his written inquiries to City staff. Mr. Kai asked why the City spends <br />so much on downtown development and employee salaries. Mr. Kai commented on racism <br />and violence in the City. <br /> <br /> <br /> 6.
