City and San Leandro Unified School District Liaison Committee <br />September 17, 2009 <br />Page 4 <br />Sarah Mestas commented on the District's crossing guard issue and thanked the panel for its <br />attention to the matter. <br />8. Committee Comments <br />Councilmember Gregory stated that he is thrilled to get Safe Routes to Schools off the ground. <br />Councilmember Reed commented on the progress of the Safe Routes to Schools Program, and <br />anything the City and District can do to bring more presence and awareness to children's safety <br />the better. <br />Board Member Mack -Rose commented that her son rides his bike to school, which compliments <br />the Safe Routes to School Program. She also expressed her excitement regarding the upcoming <br />Census 2010. <br />Board Member Hague stated that she hopes a symbiotic relationship is better for both agencies. <br />9. Adjournment <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:43 p.m. <br />
