He added that it could offer an alternative to the Downtown Farmers <br />Market. <br /> <br /> <br />3.City and San Leandro Unified School District Liaison Committee Meeting of <br />Accepted as submitted. <br />September 17, 2009. <br /> <br /> Accepted as submitted. <br />4.Finance Committee Meeting of September 8, 2009. <br /> <br /> <br />5.Rules and Communications Committee Meeting of September 22, 2009. <br />Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola commented that he was glad to see the Committee consider <br />Project Labor Agreements (PLAs). He stated that he would like the Committee to <br />review the PLA that the City of Los Angeles has in place. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Starosciak <br />to the Weed Abatement Ordinance, to expedite the enforcement process. She <br />noted the many comments the Council receives from residents about problem <br />abandoned residential property program, which was brought up by <br />Councilmember Souza at the last City Council meeting. Vice Mayor Starosciak <br />stated that Chula Vista levies a penalty of up to $1,000 per day on problem <br />properties, and thus far has levied $1.5 million in fines, which more than offsets <br />the cost of the program. Vice Mayor Starosciak requested that the City A <br />Office look into the possibility of implementing such a program in San Leandro. <br /> <br />Recommendation for City Council Consideration: <br /> <br /> <br />a. Schedule approval of the proposed amendments to the Weed Abatement <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />By consensus, the City Council approved this recommendation. <br /> <br />b. Schedule approval of the change to the meeting schedules for the Board of <br />Zoning Adjustments and the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />By consensus, the City Council approved this recommendation. <br /> <br /> <br />12. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola attended the San Leandro Police Department appreciation lunch; a <br />meeting at the Alameda County Registrar of Voters on ranked choice voting, the funeral mass <br />and reception for former Vice Mayor and Councilmember Bill Jardin; the Democratic Unity <br />Dinner at the Hilton; the two budget presentations to employees by Interim Finance Director <br />Perry Carter and City Manager Hollister; the LINKS appreciation event at the North Face; the <br /> <br />
