DRAFT MINUTES <br /> Page 9 <br />October 5, 2009 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting <br /> <br /> <br />Downtown Farmers Market; and the Sausage & Suds Festival. He hoped the City would send <br />a thank you to Larry Allphin for his contributions to the success of Sausage & Suds. <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza commented favorably on the Sausage & Suds Festival, and an <br />invitation she received to an event called Fire Ops 101. Councilmember Souza mentioned <br />that she would like to see the schedule for the Kaiser project compressed for a quicker return <br />to the Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregory attended the service for County Supervisor Alice Lai- <br />mother, and commented on the sacrifices she made for her family; he chaired Health is not <br />just Health Care meeting, at which Dr. Tony Iton, who will be leaving Alameda County for <br />the California Endowment, gave a retrospective of the work he shared with the Council in <br />May 2007; and he announced an upcoming San Leandro Sports Foundation meeting and the <br />th <br /> November 5 tour of Redwood City smart growth initiatives. <br />Councilmember Gregory stated his hopes that the Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) <br />program will be adopted before the end of the year. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Starosciak commented that the California Endowment gave the City of Chula <br />Vista a share of a $14 million grant toward their HEAL program. She attended the Senior <br />Services Friendly Visitor program fundraiser at the Alta Mira Clubhouse and served beer at <br />be adjourned in memory of Ching Ti Lam, who was the mother of Alameda County <br />Supervisor Alice Lai-Bitker and neighbor in Marina Vista; and <br />Wayne Franks, her high school classmate and <br />IDES. <br /> <br /> <br />13.
