Matter of Motion to Create an Ad Hoc Citizens' Budget Task Force. <br />Mr. Hollister reported that at the Council's Budget Work Session in September, the <br />Council discussed the formation of a citizens' budget task force. He described the <br />proposed work and timeline of the task force, which he indicated would be a fairly <br />aggressive schedule. <br />Interim Finance Director Perry Carter stated that the Finance Department would staff <br />the task force. He anticipated a series of five meetings, between November and <br />February. <br />Mayor Santos requested that the members of the Council each recommend an appointee <br />to the task force. He suggested a 13-member body representing a good cross-section of <br />the community. <br />Mr. Carter responded to questions from the Council. In response to a question from <br />Councilmember Souza, Mr. Hollister indicated that there would be opportunity for <br />public input at the task force meetings. <br />The Council discussed the name of the task force, and the possibility of retaining the <br />task force for the purpose of long-range budget planning. <br />Councilmember Stephens inquired about the representation on the task force by <br />homeowners associations. <br />• Minute Order No. 2009-042, Motion Establishing an Ad Hoc Citizens' Budget <br />Task Force for the Purpose of Providing Community Input Regarding City <br />Programs and Services to Be Used in Preparing the 2010-11 General Fund <br />Budget.
