L3. ~,4v <br />East Bay Green Corridor Partnership (EBGC) <br />Home to the University of California Berkeley (UCB), Lawrence Berkeley <br />National Laboratory (LBNL), a highly educated and entrepreneurial workforce, <br />and an 8-city commitment to regional cooperation on economic development, the <br />East Bay Green Corridor is poised to be a leader in the emerging green technology <br />economy. <br />Established in December 2007 by the Mayors of Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond <br />and Emeryville; the Chancellor of UC Berkeley; and the Director of LBNL, the <br />East Bay Green Corridor's mission is to create a thriving region of green <br />technology innovation, commercialization and local economic development in a <br />manner that creates high quality jobs and addresses environmental and social <br />concerns. <br />In June, 2009, the East Bay Green Corridor was expanded to include the cities of <br />Alameda, Albany, El Cerrito, and San Leandro, and the academic institutions <br />California State University East Bay, Peralta Community College District and <br />Contra Costa Community College District. <br />East Bay Green Corridor Principles <br />The East Bay Green Corridor Partnership is committed to strengthening the <br />regional green technology economy while reaching sustainability goals through <br />the following principles: <br />- Create conditions that support new and emerging green industries <br />- Strengthen existing programs promoting technology development and <br />transfer <br />Carla Din <br />carl a~eastbaveda.or; <br />
