CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
STAFF REPORT
DATE: January 19, 2010
TO: Stephen L. Hollister, City Manager
FROM: Uchenna Udemezue, Directory
Engineering and Transportation epartment
BY: Kenneth Joseph, City Engineer ~~
SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
APPROVED AND
FORWARDED
TO CITY COUNCIL
Stephen L. The station has reached the end of its service life
as indicated by its increasing unreliability and increased maintenance.
Analysis
This project provides for the rehabilitation of the Wicks Lift Station near Wicks Boulevard and
Burroughs Avenue, and the Blue Dolphin Lift Station next to the Marina Boat Harbor. The scope
of work for the Wicks Boulevard Lift Station includes the rehabilitation of the manhole structure,
replacement of the lift station pumps and realignment of the forcemain pipes to bypass the Merced
Lift Station. The Wicks Lift Station outflow line will be realigned to flow directly into the
forcemain running parallel on Merced Street, bypassing the Merced Lift Station and thus
