System. 4.0 would be used in a blended <br />system incorporating the Sequoia Edge 2 with firmware version 5.0.24, with VeriVote <br />Printer, primarily for accessible voting for voters with disabilities. <br />As you know, Alameda County seeks approvaE to upgrade to WinEDS 4.0.1968, so it <br />can conduct ranked-choice voting (RCV) far the charter cities of Berkeley, Oakland and <br />San Leandro in the 2010 Consolidated Gubernatorial General Election. We have <br />reviewed the voter=approved RCV provisions in the charters of the three, cities to verify <br />the methods for tabulation are consistenf with those of the City and County of San <br />Francisco, which we successfully tested prior to approving San Francisco's use of <br />WinEDS 4.0.1168 for RCV elections. <br />While the request tp approve use of the voting system in Alameda County was under <br />review, the- Elections Department of the City and County of San Francisco conducted <br />Logic and Accuracy testing of its blended WinEDS 4.0.1168 voting system in <br />preparation for use in the November 3, 2009, Municipal Election. The tests revealed <br />two software errors in the Sequoia Edge 2. The first error affected the Chinese <br />character ballot review screen on the Edge 2, causing a voter who intended to return to <br />a specific contest screen by pressing the name of the contest on the review screen to <br />be returned to the wrong contest screen. The second error affected the audio ballot in <br />
