Recreation and Parks Commission Meeting <br />November 4, 2009 <br />3 of 3 <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />A. Commemoration of Luster Knight -Memorial Concepts for Marina Park. <br />Secretary Knudtson reported that the letter the Commission had her write to City Council was <br />sent to them and City Council didn't bring anything up regarding the letter. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Measure WW and Park Development Funds <br />Secretary Knudtson reported that City Council approved the Commission's recommendation for <br />the process for the public workshops for the Measure WW and Park Development Funds. She <br />also shared that she assured City Council that if the meetings didn't net enough information, the <br />Commission would let them know that and not make a recommendation. Knudtson advised the <br />Commission that fliers were distributed throughout the City through many different venues and <br />businesses to make sure the information reached all of the community. <br />Knudtson recommended the Commission review the agenda for the public meetings and <br />determine their role as Commissioners at the meeting. She invited Mike Bakaldin, the director <br />of Public Works and Ken Joseph, the City Engineer to help in the process and answer any <br />questions. Bakaldin brought the powerpoint presentation that will be used at the workshops. He <br />presented the slideshow to the Commission and a discussion ensued regarding the process to <br />assist the public with reviewing all the projects on the list. The Commission agreed to act as <br />observers at the meetings and assist the public with questions. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A. San Lorenzo Unified School District Commissioner <br />The Commission welcomed Commissioner Thomas Wagner. <br />B. Bicyle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BAPAC) <br />Secretary Knudtson reported on the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee during her <br />report of the Secretary. <br />REPORT OF CHAIR <br />Chair Vandiver suggested that in the interest of time she would skip the report of the chair. <br />COMMISSIONER COMMENTS <br />MSC (CombsBrannan) to skip the Commissioner Comments and adjourn the meeting. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Carolyn Knudtson, Secretary <br />
