Minute Order No. 2010-005, Resolution Commending Millicent Miles for Her Years <br />of Service on the Rent Review Board (approves a ceremonial resolution of the City <br />Council). (2507) <br />The City Council approved the resolution commending Millicent Miles for her <br />years of service on the Rent Review Board. <br />M/S/C Prola and Stephens. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: 1(Santos) <br />Millicent Miles was not present to receive her resolution, and it will be mailed to her. <br />C. Resolution No. 2010-002, Resolution Appointing Janice Woycheshin as District 3 <br />Member to Senior Commission. (2143) <br />M/S/C Souza and Prola. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: 1(Santos) <br />Newly-appointed Senior Commissioner Janice Woycheshin took the Oath of Office <br />administered by City Clerk Marian Handa. <br />D. Presentation of the Treatment Plant Operator of the Year Award to Akli Beladi, Plant <br />Operator Lead, from the San Francisco Bay Section of the California Water <br />Environment Association. <br />Public Works Services Director Mike Bakaldin announced that Akli Beladi, winner of <br />the Treatment Plant Operator of the Year Award from the San Francisco Bay Section of <br />the California Water Environment Association, is the second winner in a row from San <br />Leandro. Akli will go to the California Water Environment Association Annual <br />Conference, where he will compete for the statewide award. <br />Vice Mayor Starosciak joined Mr. Bakaldin in congratulating Akli Beladi, and wishing <br />him the best of luck in the statewide competition. <br />E. Presentation Regarding Reauthorization of Measure B by the Alameda County <br />Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA). <br />ACTIA Executive Director Christine Monsen gave a PowerPoint presentation, <br />providing information on Measure B and the transportation improvement capital <br />projects funded by its revenues. She stated that a ballot measure to reauthorize Measure <br />B is being considered for November 2012. <br />Ms. Monsen and ACTIA Programs and Public Affairs Manager Tess Lengyel responded <br />to questions and received comments and suggestions from the Council. Ms. Monsen <br />invited everyone to the Central Alameda County Transportation Forum that will be held <br />at Hayward City Hall on January 21. <br />
