MINUTES Page 8 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-February 1, 2010 <br />to receive funding. Mr. Hollister indicated that he could confer with Mr. Simon and get <br />his recommendation on the projects that would be best received. <br />Mayor Santos noted that transportation projects are usually a high priority, as are <br />shovel-ready projects. <br />Councilmember Souza noted that Kaiser is a regional project, and transportation <br />projects that improve access to and from Kaiser might receive federal support. She <br />suggested the Marina Boulevard interchanges and the Merced Street widening project <br />are transportation projects that could fall in the regional category, and are shovel-ready. <br />Engineering and Transportation Director Uche Udemezue commented on the Marina <br />Boulevard overcrossing/interchange and Davis Street overcrossing projects, both of <br />which had previously been approved for federal funding. Mr. Udemezue pointed out <br />that Marina Boulevard and Davis Street would be good projects to present to federal <br />legislators, and that they could be eligible to receive funds from several different <br />funding sources. <br />• Minute Order No. 2010-012, Motion Approving Projects for Presentation to the <br />City's Congressional Representatives During the March National League of Cities <br />Conference in Washington D.C. for Inclusion in the Federal Fiscal Year 2011 <br />Budget. (1051) <br />The City Council approved the submission of the following projects: <br />^ San Leandro Marina Spine -Bay Trail Connection - $1,500,000 <br />^ Public Safety Building Expansion - $3,000,000 <br />^ East 14th Street Improvements - $3,000,000 <br />^ East 14th Street/Hesperian Boulevard/150th Avenue Improvements - <br />$2,000,000 <br />and authorized the City Manager, after consulting with the City's Federal <br />Relations Representative, to submit the three projects most likely to receive <br />funding. <br />M/S/C Prola and Starosciak. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />B. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br />None. <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />Vice Mayor Starosciak reported that the Alameda County Congestion Management <br />Agency (CMA) and Alameda County Transportation Improvement Agency (ACTIA) <br />held a joint meeting, at which it was recommended to move forward to merge the two <br />
