MINUTES Page 12 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-March 1, 2010 <br />• Minute Order No. 2010-017, Motion Approving the Proposed City <br />Council Agenda Format Changes as Presented to the Rules and <br />Communications Committee. (2416) <br />The City Council approved the proposed City Council agenda <br />format changes as presented to the Rules and Communications <br />Committee. <br />M/S/C Prola and Stephens. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />12. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Stephens commented on the Code Red alert, indicating that he thought the <br />system would only be used for catastrophic events. He expressed interest in knowing how the <br />contact list was created, and how it is being used. Councilmember Stephens remarked that a <br />lot of rumors were circulating for days after the incident described by Ms. Kitchen, and he <br />commented on the need for residents to be notified of the resolution of the incident, to give <br />them closure. <br />Councilmember Souza commented on the ACAP (Associated Community Action Program) <br />application to the Community Action Board that was provided to the Council. She <br />encouraged the Council to pass the information on to community members that might be <br />interested in serving on the Board. <br />Vice Mayor Starosciak wished the Washington, D.C. delegationCouncilmembers Reed, <br />Souza, and Gregory, and City Manager Hollister-success in their lobbying efforts. <br />Councilmember Prola attended the 40th anniversary of the Davis Street Family Resource <br />Center; the Shoreline-Marina Committee meeting; the Chamber's Industrial Roundtable; the <br />Registrar of Voters meeting on Ranked Choice Voting; the Lunar New Year celebration at the <br />Library; a meeting with members of the Ca1PERS Retirement Board in Sacramento; a <br />meeting at the Library on the BART pedestrian improvements; the Chamber's "Shop San <br />Leandro First" community fair; and the LeTip Casino Night at the Englander, benefitting the <br />Davis Street Family Resource Center. <br />Mayor Santos commented that he will participate in a panel discussion on sister cities at UC <br />Berkeley on March 13; will offer welcoming remarks for a Portuguese group meeting at the <br />Autodesk Gallery in San Francisco on March 18; and officiated the opening of San Leandro's <br />American Cancer Society Relay for Life event this past weekend. <br />13. ADJOURN <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:51 p.m. <br />
