An Ordinance Amending the San Leandro Municipal Code to Add a New Chapter 5-7 <br />to Implement the Digital Infrastructure and Video Competition Act (DIVCA) of 2006 <br />(facilitates the implementation of DIVCA by setting forth local regulations for the <br />provision of video service by state franchise holders within the City). <br />Mr. Hollister commented on the authorized uses of DIVCA funds. Assistant to the City <br />Manager Jacquelyn Diaz reported that the proposed action grants the City the ability to <br />collect Public Education, and Government (PEG) fees for government access and <br />education purposes. <br />Vice Mayor Starosciak remarked that the entire western end of the City has only AT&T <br />access, and no Comcast. She asked if there was some alternative to AT&T for the <br />industrial area.
