Vice Mayor Starosciak submitted several comments to staff, which resulted <br />in edits to the Housing Element. taff distributed a <br />summary of the edits to the Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos commented on the lack of shelter beds for single men in the Bay Area. <br /> <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> <br />Dan Martinez, Congregations Organizing for Renewal (COR) <br />, addressed the City <br />Council, commenting that the RHNA (Regional Housing Needs Assessment) goals for <br />low- and very low-income were unmet in the previous Housing Element, and expressed <br />concern about the ability to meet the goals contained in the new Housing Element. Mr. <br />Martinez provided a letter to the Council from COR, containing several suggestions for <br />inclusion in the updated Housing Element, including additional protections for renters. <br /> <br />Vu-Bang Nguyen, Land Use Program Coordinator for Urban Habitat, <br /> addressed <br />the City Council, requesting that the Council consider incorporating in the Housing <br />Element a 30% inclusionary housing requirement in the TOD (Transit Oriented <br /> <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the public, and without objection, the Public <br />Hearing was closed. <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 2010-035 <br />, Resolution Adopting the Updated Housing Element as <br />Part of the San Leandro General Plan (adopts the Negative Declaration/Initial <br />Study and the updated Housing Element).
