Hollister <br />City Manager <br />FROM: Carolyn Knudtson, Recreation and Human Services Director <br />Recreation and Human Services Department <br />BY: Joann Oliver, Recreation and Human Services Manager <br />Recreation and Human Services Department <br />SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE MEASURE B <br />PARATRANSIT APPLICATION FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF MEASURE B <br />PARATRANSIT FUNDS IN FY 2010-11 TO THE ALAMEDA COUNTY <br />TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY, AND TO NEGOTIATE AND <br />EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS IN SUPPORT OF THESE ACTIVITIES. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the City <br />Manager to submit the FY 2010-11 Application for Measure B Paratransit funds. 'The application <br />will provide for the following paratransit services and program changes. As projected for the past <br />several years, we will also be implementing service changes in order to operate the service within <br />the grant allocation. <br />Measure BGrant - $210,345 <br />1. FLEX Shuttle Service (Shuttle) -Expand Shuttle Service from 1 to 2 buses, operating on <br />two interconnecting routes during peak hours (9 am - 3 pm, Monday -Friday). <br />Minimum Services Level Grant - $75,000 <br />1. Medical Transportation Service -Reservation Service, 5 Days Per Week, Medical <br />appointments within Alameda County <br />2. Interim service for people waiting to be approved by East Bay Paratransit. <br />Service Chances <br />1. Eliminate Curb-to-Curb service for non-medical trips. <br />2. Implement new Annual Registration Fee of $20 per year. <br />3. Eliminate Paratransit Coordinator part-time position. <br />
