budget. Staff is recommending not extending the Golden Handshake beyond the scheduled date <br />of June, 2010. <br />4. Public Comments <br />Bob Leigh had provided a list of questions regarding employee retirement unfunded liability and <br />suggested that staff provide that information in the budget document. Carter indicated that the <br />Comprehensive Annual Financial Report does provide that liability's information in detail. <br />Hollister stated that the City currently "pays as you go" but is beginning to put funds away. <br />Carter also answered Mr. Leigh's question on whether the City can use the funds: the answer is <br />no. Retirement funds are in a trust and therefore can not be touched. <br />Sabrina Almazan of the Four Paws Society indicated the potential for more Animal License <br />revenue. Ms. Almazan stated that Veterinarian offices are required to provide the City with a list <br />of dogs that come in for vaccination shots and therefore staff can follow-up with a notice of the <br />license requirement. Perini stated that the list does go to the Animal Control division of the <br />Police Department. <br />5. Committee Comments <br />Councilmember Souza stated that a delay in implementation of the proposed Sales Tax Revenue <br />Measure and the possibility of the City of Union City failing to approve the contract with <br />Alameda County Fire for services could impact the General Fund by $1.3 million. <br />6.
