1N THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2010-049 <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING TITLE 12, CHAPTER 8, SECTION 12.8.105 OF THE <br />SAN LEANDRO ADMINISTRATIVE CODE <br />RELATING TO STREET TREE POLICY AND PROCEDURE <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has been named a Tree City USA by the National <br />Arbor Day Foundation for the past thirteen (13) years; and <br />WHEREAS, trees provide many benefits to the City and its residents; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to continue the tree planting service, the City Manager recommends <br />charging a minimal fee to recover the cost of the tree and part of the labor. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That Title 12, Chapter 8, Section 12.8.105 of the San Leandro Administrative Code is <br />amended to read as follows: <br />[New provisions proposed to be added are printed in bold italic type; Existing provisions proposed <br />to be deleted are printed in st~il~'e.] <br />§12.8.105 STREET TREE PLANTING. Property owners desiring a new street tree must <br />contact the City to request a tree. The City will plant the tree for a fee ^~~°r^ ~'^"~r yen' +^ +''° <br />p~e~ set forth in X6.4.100 of the San Leandro Administrative Code. The property <br />owner will have limited discretion as to the type of tree based on the area available for planting. <br />If an existing street tree is being removed by the City under the circumstances in § 12.8.110 and the <br />City will require a replacement tree to be planted, there will be no cost to the property owner for <br />this service. <br />That said amendment shall be effective July 1, 2010. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Stephens and passed and adopted this 3rd day of May, <br />2010, by the following called vote: <br />
