4. Discussion Regarding Overview of Traffic Activities <br />Keith Cooke gave a PowerPoint presentation regarding an overview of traffic activities. <br />Keith explained that staff is working to prioritize and resolve trouble locations. Staff <br />spent time with AC Transit regarding the relocation of routes, have coordinated red <br />zones, parking restrictions, one-way destinations and a lighted crosswalk at the Marina <br />Community Center. Staff analyzes collision rates regularly, using the data to make the <br />streets safer. Keith discussed some of the solutions to make the streets safer such as: <br />accessible pedestrian signal equipment, speed feedback signs, speed cushions and lighted <br />crosswalks. Keith also showed slides of the new Traffic Operations Center and explained <br />the systems. Discussion ensued. <br />Mayor Santos commented that staff has been doing a good job with traffic controls. <br />Councilmember Gregory stated that he is thrilled with the work that is being done.
