MINUTES Page 10 <br />City of San Leandro City Council, San Leandro Public Financing Authority, and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency <br />Joint Meeting-June 7, 2010 <br />Councilmember Prola reported that he attended the Asian Business Council meeting; the <br />public meeting regarding tree removal along San Leandro Creek; the Heritage Faire at the <br />Main Library; the San Leandro International Festival at John Muir Middle School; the Save <br />San Leandro Schools benefit reception; and a tour of the Northern California TRACON in <br />Sacramento. Councilmember Prola reported that he had dinner with Congressman Pete Starlc, <br />and his local office coordinator, Jo Cazenave, and made a pitch for more earmarks for our <br />district. He expressed appreciation to City staff for the sacrifices they have made in this <br />difficult economy. Councilmember Prola requested that tonight's meeting be adjourned in <br />memory of Mary Louise Corbelli. <br />Councilmember Starosciak reported that she attended a meeting of the Central Alameda <br />County Freeway Policy Advisory Committee regarding the downtown Hayward loop, which <br />will begin construction this fall. She pointed out that through this project, Hayward will <br />regain control of Foothill Boulevard, Highway 92 and Mission Boulevard from Caltrans. <br />Councilmember Starosciak reported that the I-580 sound wall is scheduled for completion this <br />summer, and she noted that the City will be responsible for working with Caltrans to remove <br />graffiti. <br />Vice Mayor Reed reported that she attended the first annual Latino Achievement Night and <br />African American Achievement Night; the International Festival; and the Heritage Faire. She <br />commented that tomorrow is Election Day, and urged everyone to get out and vote. <br />Mayor Santos reported that he attended the Latino Achievement Night and African American <br />Achievement Night; the ribbon cutting at Devine Home Care; the ASES Award at the Boys & <br />Girls Club; San Leandro Relay for Life; the Heritage Faire; the Davis Street Night at the <br />Opera; the Memorial Day service at Lone Tree Cemetery; the International Faire; the San <br />Leandro Players fundraiser; and the San Lorenzo Adult School D.LC.E. (District Independent <br />Contract Education) graduation. <br />Mayor Santos announced that tonight's meeting would be adjourned in memory of: Mary <br />Louise Corbelli, mother of Dr. Tern Tinsley of the San Leandro Rotary; Jean Noll, a <br />volunteer with the San Leandro Police Department; Donald Leonard Thurman, father of <br />Teresa Glaze and father-in-law of former Vice Mayor Bob Glaze; Ann Hague, long-time San <br />Leandro resident and former City commissioner; June Stewart Conner, mother of East Bay <br />Dischargers Authority (EBDA) General Manager Mike Conner; and Carmen Skipworth, <br />long-time San Leandro resident. <br />12.
