IN THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001 - 4 (1215/1270) <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO, THE CITY OF OAKLAND AND' THE <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF OAKLAND FOR THE <br />DOOLITTLE DRIVE DESIGN PORTION OF THE AIRPORT GATEWAY <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro and the City of Oakland have completed and <br />adopted a Joint Revitalization Plan under the Association of Bay Area Governments' <br />Comprehensive Sub-regional Planning project for the border area shared by the cities; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Port of Oakland and the Alameda County Transportation Agency as <br />well as the City of San Leandro and the City of Oakland are involved in implementing <br />projects in the western portion of the Joint Revitalization Plan more particularly <br />described as the Airport Gateway Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro and the City of Oakland and the Port of Oakland <br />have adopted an urban design concept for the Airport Gateway Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parties agree that economic development is an overall goal of all <br />projects in the Airport Gateway Area and that implementing the adopted design theme <br />would enhance economic development opportunities; and <br />WHEREAS, as lead agency for the Doolittle Drive portion of the airport area <br />improvement project the City of San Leandro applied for and was awarded a fiscal year <br />2000, $277,500 HUD Economic Development Initiative Special Project Grant; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro will utilize the HUD grants funds to hire a design <br />consultant, and perform associated work to produce construction drawings for Doolittle <br />Drive. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That the City Manager is authorized to execute the terms as noted in the Memorandum of <br />Understanding for the Doolittle Drive design portion of the Airport Gateway <br />Improvement Project. <br />
