~x~~~~~( Q-~ <br /> <br />2001.005 <br />TESTING & QUALITY CONTROL - 01410 <br />Fire Station #11 <br />San Leandro, Califorrun <br />01410 TESTING & OUALTTY CONTROL <br />1.00 GENERAL <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION <br />A. Work Included: <br />1. This Section describes the requirements for coordinating special inspections with the Owner's selected <br />testing laboratory and all others responsible for testing and inspecting the Work. <br />2. Provide other testing and inspecting as specified is to be furnished by the Contractor in this Section <br />and/or elsewhere in these Specifications. <br />B. Related work specified elsewhere: <br />1. Requirements for testing may be described, in various other Sections of these Specifications. <br />2. Where no testing requirements are desQibed, but the Owner decides that testing is required, the Owner <br />may direct that such testing be performed under current Standards for testing. Payment for such testing <br />will be made by the Owner. <br />1.02 WORK NOT INCLUDED <br />A. Selection of Testing Laboratory: <br />The Owner will select apre-qualified independent testing laboratory. <br />B. Payment for Initial Testing: <br />The Owner will pay for initial services of the testing laboratory as further described in this Section. <br />1.03 OUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Qualifications of Testing Laboratory: <br />The testing laboratory will be qualified to the Owner's approval in accordance with ASTM E329. <br />B. Testing will be performed as outlined in the Testing, Inspection & Reporting Schedule (attached). <br />B. Codes and Standards: <br />1. '98 California Building Code, or latest approved edition. <br />2. '98 California Building Code, specifically, all requirements stated in Title 24, Part I, Chapter 4, <br />Article 1 and Article 3 and all appendices (attached). <br />3. California Building Code testing, when required, will be in accordance with pertinent codes and <br />regulations and with selected standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials. <br />1.04 PRODUCT HANDLING <br />A. Promptly process and distribute required copies of test reports and related instructions to ensure necessary <br />retesting and replacement of materials with the least possible delay in progress of the Work. <br />1.05 SUBMITTALS <br />A. The independent testing agency shall submit a certified written report of each inspection, test or similar <br />service, to the Owner's Representative, Owner, the Engineer, Building Department, unless the Contractor is <br />responsible for the service. If the Contractor is responsible for the service, submit a certified written report of <br />each inspection, test or similar service through the Contractor, to the Owner's Representative, Owner, and <br />the Engineer. Submit additional copies of each written report directly to the governing authority, when the <br />authority so directs. <br />Written reports of each inspection, test, or similar service shall include, but not be limited to: <br />1. Date of issue. <br />2. Project title and number. <br />3. Name, address and telephone number of testing agency. <br />4. Dates and locations of samples and tests or inspections. <br />5. Names of individuals making the inspection or test. <br />6. Designation of the Work and test method. <br />7. Identification of product and Specification Section. <br />8. Complete inspection or test data. <br />9. Test results and an interpretation of test results <br />10. Ambient conditions at the time of sample-taking and testing. <br />11. Comments or professional opinion as to whether inspected or tested work complies with the Contract <br />Document requirements. <br />12. Name and signature of laboratory inspector. <br />13. Recommendations on retesting. <br />1.06 OUALTTY ASSURANCE <br />A.
