TRAINING <br />Practical information material (on general good housekeeping practices for each type of site <br />occupancy that contribute to protection of storm water quality) will be provided to employees, <br />contractors, and public users (as needed) by Waste Management of Alameda County. Among <br />other things, these materials will describe the use of chemicals (including household type), <br />petroleum products, pesticides, and fertilizers that should be limited to the property, with no <br />discharge of wastes via hosing or other direct discharge to gutters, catch basins, or storm drains. <br />Such information will include, but not be limited to the information provided in Section 2.1 <br />Identification of Potential Pollution Sources and Descriptions of BMPs (Best Management <br />Practices) provided in the site's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (Waste Management, <br />Revision Date 2008). The information will be distributed directly to contractors, new employees, <br />as well as being posted in public places. Annual education for employees and contracted third <br />party vendors will be conducted through mailings. All new employees and contractors will be <br />trained within a month of hire. Contractors working on the property will also be educated <br />through mailings. Maintenance agreements with contractors will be written to include <br />conformance with this O&M Plan. Property owner and Contractor Training Logs will be kept as <br />an appendix to the site Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (Waste Management, Revision <br />Date 2008). The records of training will be kept for a minimum of five years. <br />In addition to the attachments, the following resources can be contacted to obtain updated <br />educational information free of charge: <br />American Oceans website — www.americanoceans.org/runoff/eva-bro.htm - This <br />website provides a listing of the brochures available from various State of <br />California county and city agencies. The phone numbers of each of the agencies <br />are also provided on this website. <br />Alameda Countywide Clean Water Program website — <br />http.11cleanwaterprogram.org- This website also offers free educational materials <br />and suggestions to help residents and businesses to protect watersheds and reduce <br />storm water contamination. <br />BMP training and water quality education programs will be conducted by the property owner. <br />Materials based upon information provided through the Area -wide Storm Water Program Public <br />Education Program may be used. <br />
