• <br /> Minutes - San Leandro City Council /Redevelopment Agency Meeting Page - 13 - <br /> February 5, 1996 <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS (continued) <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said he attended a Congestion Management Agency Plans <br /> and Program Committee meeting where they discussed widening 238 between <br /> 880 and 580, with possible funding for a third lane by 1999. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said the Mayor's Taiwan -Naga program was very well <br /> done. He said we can be extremely proud of what the Mayor did. <br /> D. Council Member Polvorosa said he would like to revisit the feasibility <br /> of serving alcohol at the Marina Community Center. He said he would <br /> like to see if service groups would be willing to put up a bond to <br /> enable the City to recover costs. He said service groups are concerned <br /> that they cannot dispense alcohol at the facility. <br /> E. Council Member Perry said she voted, as directed by the City Council, <br /> at the East Bay Dischargers Authority meeting. <br /> Council Member Perry spoke regarding the Telecommunications Bill and <br /> thanked the League of California Cities, National League of Cities, and <br /> Senator Feinstein for coming through. <br /> Council Member Perry said she attended a Californians for Better <br /> Transportation meeting on behalf of the League of California Cities. <br /> She said they are dealing with the Bay Bridge retrofit or replacement. <br /> She noted transportation funding is at risk pending the Santa Clara <br /> County tax situation. <br /> Council Member Perry said she attended the disaster preparedness <br /> presentation at Jefferson School and encouraged people to attend the <br /> next one in April. <br /> Council Member Perry said ACAP is continuing the process of looking at <br /> jobs and affordable housing in Alameda County. <br /> F. Council Member Galvan thanked Council Member Perry for sitting in for <br /> him at the East Bay Dischargers Authority meeting. He said it looks <br /> like a very favorable outcome on the sewer deal, which was 14 years in <br /> the making. <br /> Council Member Galvan commended the Mayor and staff on the "State of <br /> the City" presentation. <br /> G. Mayor Corbett thanked the Philippine community for providing the <br /> magnificent food at her presentation. <br /> Mayor Corbett said DARE program graduations are coming up in several <br /> weeks and everyone should feel free to attend. <br />
