Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - April 1, 1996 Page - 5 - PUBLIC COMMENTS (continued) • D. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, said he agreed with Mr. Begier and Ms. Venters. Mr. Filipovich read a statement regarding the conduct of the City Municipal Election and the endorsement of candidates in a non- partisan election by the Police, Fire, and City employees, and by Mayor Corbett. He said the Mayor violated her office by endorsing candidates and attending candidates' night. He said the City Council must conduct a runoff election in November. Mayor Corbett said there has been no violation of her oath of office, and it is unfortunate so many misrepresentations were made. E. Al Rosenga, 534 Parrott Street, asked if the buildings to be reused in the Lloyd Wise project are seismically sound. The City Manager said the architect is looking at the buildings and those that are reused will be brought up to 1995 codes. He said bringing the buildings up to code will not affect the cost of the City's agreement because all construction costs are borne by Mr. Batarse and are not part of the agreement. 6. CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. The Consent Calendar was approved as follows: Introduced by Council Member Kerr, who moved adoption of the Consent Calendar, with all items deemed to have been read by title, seconded by Council Member Galvan, with Council Member Loeffler absent (1), and carried by a majority vote (6). A. Resolution No. 96 -37, Resolution Approving Agreement with Southern Pacific Transportation Company for Construction of a Storm Drain on Lewelling Boulevard West of Wicks Boulevard for Roberts Landing, PUC Crossing No. L -17.9 (provides for installation and maintenance of a City storm drain line on Lewelling Boulevard which crosses the Southern Pacific rail line as part of the Lewelling Boulevard improvements for Roberts Landing).
