(1123)
Introduced by Council Member Perry, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Council Member Polvorosa, with Council Member Loeffler absent (1), and
carried by a majority vote (6).
E. City Council Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies.
1. Council Member Perry reported on the ABAG General Assembly,
Proposition 62, and the technology conference. She noted there will
be a small increase in dues.
Council Member Perry said there will be a meeting with San Leandro
and Hayward regarding the ACAP Strategic Plan for the Eden Area.
Council Member Perry said she attended the League of California
Cities Transportation Committee meeting. She said League President
Benninghoven made a presentation to the East Bay Division regarding
Constitutional revisions.
2. Council Member Galvan reported regarding the East Bay Dischargers
Authority and said there will not be an agreement between East Bay
Dischargers Authority and LAVWMA any time soon. He said Ben Tarver,
the LAVWMA Chair and Mayor of Pleasanton, has taken it upon himself
to make sure this isn't going to happen. This is a prime example of
the need to combine some of these agencies. He said this is a
simple situation where we have the capacity and the other side of
the hill needs it.
F. Approval of Work Session Items Requiring Action.
Minute Order No. 96 -14, Motion Regarding 1996 -97 Budget Strategies.
(1051)
On motion by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved its approval, seconded
by Council Member Galvan, with Council Member Loeffler absent (1), and
carried by a majority vote (6), the City Council moved that the 1996 -97
Budget Strategies, as recommended by the City Council Finance
Committee, be adopted. This motion reaffirms the City Council
preliminary approval of the Budget Strategies on March 18, 1996, and
the recommended update for the five issues reviewed on April 15, 1996.
