Rex Whisnand, 1264 A Street, Rental Housing Association, requested the
recycling contract be continued to determine the effect on apartments.
He submitted documents regarding refuse rates. He said San Leandro has
some of the highest bin costs in Southern Alameda County. He said the
staff report doesn't seem to address multi - family units. He said the
contract is for 10 years, and there should be a better deal for multi-
family housing.
L. Kay McGuire, Californians for Responsible Gun Laws, said AB 638 is
detrimental to people. She said people want to move away from
concealed weapons. Statistics show that more guns make us more
endangered. She said, if guns made us safe, we would be the safest
society in the world; but we have the highest gun deaths of any society
in the world.
