Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - June 3, 1996 Page - 9 -
•
NEW BUSINESS (continued)
G. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken.
No Report.
8. PUBLIC HEARINGS
A. Matter of A -96 -2, Amendment to Zoning Code; to Provide for Conditional
Use Approval for Multi - Family Residential Use in North Area 2 Zoning
District.
This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above
matter, Norm Weisbrod, Associate Planner, presented the staff report.
He said the new Zoning Code incorporated the North Area 1 and 2
directly from the North Area Specific Plan. In North Area 2, multiple
family to a density of 24 units per acre is a permitted use. This
modification to the Zoning Code will make it a conditional use, which
will allow more input from the neighborhood which will be impacted by
such projects.
The Hearing was then opened to the public.
Susan Riskind - Poulsen, 182 Sunnyside Drive, thanked the Council for
taking up the issue and Steve Emslie and Development Services for their
support of the request. She said this is a proactive measure that will
eliminate anxiety in the future.
Darlene Evans asked the boundaries of the North Area; staff pointed
them out.
There being no further comments from the public, on motion by Council
Member Polvorosa, who moved its approval, seconded by Council Member
Loeffler, and carried by a majority vote (7), the Public Hearing was
closed.
The following Motion was then introduced:
Minute Order No. 96 -18, Matter of A -96 -2, Amendment to Zoning Code; to
Provide for Conditional Use Approval for Multi- Family Residential Use
in North Area 2 Zoning District. (1099)
On motion by Council Member Loeffler, seconded by Council Member
Polvorosa, and carried by a majority vote (7), the City Council
approved A -96 -2.
