ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Loeffler, Lothrop, Polvorosa, <br /> Young; Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: All Present <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Commendation to Olga S. Frey for her receipt of the Liberty Bell Award <br /> and for her many years of dedicated service. <br /> Mayor Corbett said Mrs. Frey was unable to attend the meeting, so the <br /> Commendation would be presented another time. <br /> B. Commendation to Martin Babinec in recognition of being named Service <br /> Entrepreneur of the Year by the San Jose and Silicon Valley Business <br /> Journal. <br /> Mayor Corbett said she was very excited to commend him. He has been <br /> growing his business, Trinet, in San Leandro and raising his family <br /> here. He was recognized as Service Entrepreneur of the Year and also <br /> recently mentioned in the Wall Street Journal and is bringing great <br /> honor to the City of San Leandro. She read the Commendation. Mr. <br /> Babinec said he recognizes the role the City played in keeping his <br /> business in San Leandro. <br /> C. Presentation of Outstanding Public Service Award to City of San Leandro <br /> from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for San Leandro's <br /> Disaster Preparedness Program and Residential Strengthening Program. <br /> Mayor Corbett said she will be sharing the award with the community. <br /> She said very few of these awards are given. Mr. DeWitt, the Director <br /> of FEMA, recognized the City of San Leandro for its Disaster <br /> Preparedness Program, home strengthening, RACES group, and active <br /> citizenry. The award states that it is given in recognition of <br /> outstanding commitment to mitigation which is unmatched in this nation. <br /> It recognizes not just creativity on staff's part and leadership on the <br /> Council's part, but more importantly, the community's involvement. <br />
