Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 8 - <br /> Redevelopment Agency Meeting - August 19, 1996 <br /> 4.49 Eric Gorovitz, Legal Community Against Violence, said he had <br /> expertise in gun issues, supports the ordinances, offered to provide <br /> legal services to the City Attorney for any lawsuits, and noted the <br /> difference between State and local gun regulations. <br /> 4.50 Kae McGuire, 922 Rodney Drive, supports the ordinances, has been <br /> working on this issue for over three years and believes this is a <br /> first step, and noted that other cities are also adopting gun <br /> ordinances. <br /> 4.51 Maria Theresa Viramontes, Executive Director of East Bay Public <br /> Safety Partnership, reviewed the organization's goals to work in <br /> crime prevention and noted the importance of a regional strategy to <br /> reduce gun violence. <br /> 4.52 Rick and Pam Richards, 335 Peralta Drive, submitted a note of their <br /> support for the ordinances. <br /> The Mayor thanked the audience for a cooperative Public Comment period. <br /> 5. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered <br /> for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council <br /> may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. <br /> Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. <br /> The Consent Calendar was approved as follows: <br /> M /S /C Polvorosa and Loeffler. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> 5.1 Resolution No. 96 -131, Resolution Approving Contractual Services <br /> Agreement with Judith R. Lieberman (provides assistance for the <br /> City's Waste Minimization and Recycling Programs). (2323) <br /> 5.2 Resolution No. 96 -132, Resolution Adopting Customer -Owned <br /> Streetlights Pole Attachment Agreement (permits the City to maintain <br /> existing streetlights on PG &E -owned poles). (1204) <br /> 5.3 Resolution No. 96 -133, Resolution Accepting the Work for East 14th <br /> Street Downtown Area Street Tree Planting, Phase 1, Project No. 95- <br /> 210 -8349 (provides for initial acceptance of work from White Oak <br /> Landscape, Inc., release of bonds, and filing of Notice of <br /> Completion). (2794) <br /> 5.4 Resolution No. 96 -134, Resolution Accepting the Work for <br /> North /South /West Dike Road Median Landscaping, Project No. 95 -597- <br /> 8670 (provides for initial acceptance of work from T &L Landscaping, <br /> release of bonds, and filing of Notice of Completion).
