CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> 8.1 Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies. <br /> None <br /> 8.2 Reports on City Council Subcommittees. <br /> None <br /> 8.3 City Council Comments <br /> 8.3.1 Council Member Galvan asked staff to follow up regarding <br /> Columbia San Leandro Hospital rumors. <br /> 8.3.2 Council Member Young requested a staff report regarding <br /> pedestrian safety on Washington Avenue near the Eden Roc and <br /> St. Moritz apartments. <br /> Council Member Young said she received a list of the San <br /> Leandro Leadership 1995 graduating class and asked that it be <br /> passed along to other Council Members looking for potential <br /> candidates for committees, Boards, and Commissions. <br /> Council Member Young mentioned John Justino's health and <br /> encouraged everyone to send cards to wish him well. <br /> Council Member Young said she attended Paradiso's ribbon <br /> cutting, the recent Flea Market, and the San Leandro Arts' <br /> Festival. <br /> Council Member Young reminded everyone about the Business Walk <br /> on Friday and Saturday and that volunteers are still needed. <br /> 8.3.3 Vice Mayor Polvorosa noted the etching on the Library's glass <br /> doors. He suggested staff look into a public - property <br /> vandalism ordinance with a fine for replacement. He noted his <br /> support for long -term projects for youth and the need for <br /> holiday events for youth. He cited the City's offer to <br /> maintain the John Muir fields for soccer many years ago, <br /> without District acceptance of the offer. <br />
