Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 16 - <br /> Redevelopment Agency Meeting - September 16, 1996 <br /> Council Member Galvan suggested that they wait for team <br /> building until a new City Manager is in place. <br /> Council Member Lothrop suggested they get the process <br /> started and identify priorities and direction. <br /> Interim City Manager Wandzia Grycz offered to ask Steve <br /> Kingsford for a proposal that would provide some <br /> alternatives. Council concurred. <br /> Mayor Corbett noted there was no City Council Meeting <br /> scheduled for September 30th and that this date may be <br /> available to schedule a special meeting. <br /> 8.3.4 Council Member Glaze wished his wife a Happy Anniversary <br /> and thanked her for the bouquet of flowers. <br /> Council Member Glaze asked staff to report back on a <br /> recent East Bay MUD survey received regarding backflow <br /> preventers. He said there had been a program at one <br /> time, and he was not sure of the status, as well as the <br /> homeowners' requirements. <br /> 8.3.5 Vice Mayor Polvorosa commented on panhandling in the <br /> Estudillo Plaza. He suggested the community not provide <br /> change. He asked staff to look into posting the area <br /> with signs related to panhandling and loitering. <br /> Vice Mayor Polvorosa congratulated Theresa and Bob Glaze <br /> on their anniversary. <br /> 8.3.6 Council Member Young thanked the City Council for <br /> support of the Business Walk. She noted that, out of <br /> 420 -450 businesses targeted for visits, 11 were left on <br /> her list, and she will complete them soon. She said the <br /> event was very successful and results will be brought <br /> back at a later date. <br /> 8.3.7 Council Member Galvan commended Council Member Young on <br /> a successful Business Walk. <br /> Council Member Galvan congratulated the Glazes on their <br /> anniversary. <br /> Council Member Galvan noted trash on East 14th Street <br /> between Grand Auto and First Interstate Bank. <br /> Council Member Galvan mentioned his concern about the <br /> traffic circles; a blind resident in the area is having <br /> some difficulty negotiating the circles. Wandzia Grycz <br /> noted that the traffic circles and enhancement features <br /> will be discussed in an upcoming follow up to Council. <br />
