Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 4 - <br /> Redevelopment Agency Meeting - October 21, 1996 <br /> 3.1 Larry Norry, 2532 Williams Street, cited the BZA decision. He <br /> said Mr. Guss' business may have impacted wetlands by dumping <br /> materials at the Hohener Meat Company site. <br /> 3.2 Stuart Alexander, 2463 West Avenue 133rd, asked the Council to <br /> stop "harassing" small businesses. He urged the Council to <br /> allow C & G Contractors to conduct business. He said the <br /> small businesses bring jobs to the community. He said a small <br /> business organization is being developed. He said the Council <br /> works against small businesses. He said the site is in the <br /> best condition it has ever been. <br /> 3.3 Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked for clarification <br /> regarding an earlier statement about dumping and Eden Road. <br /> Associate Planner Norm Weisbrod noted the material that had <br /> been placed at the Hohener Meat Company site with a grading <br /> permit; no material was placed on wetlands. <br /> Council Member Glaze asked staff to provide some background <br /> about the materials on the Hohener site and said the materials <br /> were to assist in reinforcing the levy. <br /> There being no further comments from the public, the Public Hearing <br /> was closed. <br /> M /S /C Glaze and Galvan. Ayes: 5; Noes: 0; Excused: Corbett and <br /> Loeffler. <br /> Council Member Glaze said he supported delaying the action and that <br /> a good faith effort had been made. Mr. Weisbrod suggested a six - <br /> month delay due to weather. <br /> Council Member Young said Mr. Weisbrod's suggestion was more than <br /> fair. She reminded Mr. Guss that in August he had promised to be in <br /> compliance within two months' time. <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> Minute Order No. 96 -47, Matter of Appeal by Jerry L. Guss of the <br /> Board of Zoning Adjustment's Denial of CU- 93 -14; Conditional Use; to <br /> Modify or Revoke Conditional Use Permit for the Collection, Storage, <br /> Processing and Distribution of Concrete, Asphalt, and Dirt at 2660 <br /> Eden Road, Assessor's Parcel Number 42- 4530 -4; C and G Contractors, <br /> Inc. (1098) <br /> The City Council granted the Appellant, Jerry L. Guss, an extension <br /> of six (6) months to comply with all Conditions, as set forth in the <br /> Conditional Use Permit (CU- 93 -14), and with the San Leandro Municipal <br /> Code, Chapter 12, Title VII, regarding Grading, Excavations and <br /> Fills. <br /> M /S /C Lothrop and Young.
