Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 5 - <br /> Redevelapment Agency Meeting - October 21, 1996 <br /> 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited <br /> to make any comments related to Agenda items, or other items of public <br /> interest, at this time. <br /> 4.1 Doug Siden, East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD), updated the <br /> Council on the summer programs for children, including day camps. He <br /> said 14,000 children were active this past summer. He said he would <br /> provide the Council with copies of the proposed EBRPD Master Plan, <br /> which identifies park usage for future years. He also spoke about <br /> Measure KK (Prop 218) and said it would help maintain the trails and <br /> ranger patrols. He concluded with an update regarding Oyster Point. <br /> He said there have been discussions with Waste Management about the <br /> site and problems with restrooms and security issues. He said the <br /> Bay Trail construction continues. <br /> 4.2 Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked about the Closed Session <br /> item regarding the State of California vs. Citation Homes. City <br /> Attorney Steve Meyers clarified that it is a civil case. Mr. <br /> Filipovich said he hoped the public could participate in the lease <br /> issues related to the Waste Management site. <br /> He commented on the delay of the June 17, 1996, Minutes. <br /> 4.3 Lee Ness, 2321 Belvedere Avenue, thanked the Council for their <br /> continued support and confidence in reappointing him to the Planning <br /> • Commission. He said he will continue to do his best to serve the <br /> City. <br /> 4.4 Rick Richards, 335 Peralta Avenue, thanked the City Council for their <br /> continued support to the Friends of the Creek. He said they <br /> appreciate the Council's participation in activities. He spoke of <br /> the mural project and noted that international artist Leigh Keller <br /> Rice would be working with the Friends. He announced the upcoming <br /> Wine and Cheese fundraiser on November 2, 1996, and invited the <br /> Council to attend. He also announced the availability of the Friends <br /> of the Creek cookbook. <br /> 5. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered <br /> for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council <br /> may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. <br /> Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. <br /> Items 5.1 and 5.2 were removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business. <br /> The remaining items on the Consent Calendar were approved as follows: <br /> M /S /C Glaze and Galvan. Ayes: 5; Noes: 0; Excused: Corbett and Loeffler. <br /> 5.1 Minutes of the Meeting of June 17, 1996. Removed from the Consent <br /> Calendar to New Business. <br />
