Adjustments may waive such requirements if the goals of this <br /> Section would be better served thereb4. <br /> (a) Tower facilities shall be landscaped with a buffer of plant <br /> materials that effectively screens the view of the tower <br /> compound from adjacent residential property. The <br /> standard buffer shall consist of a landscaped strip at least <br /> five (5) feet wide outside the perimeter of the compound. <br /> (b) In locations where the visual impact of the tower would be <br /> minimal, the landscaping requirement may be reduced or <br /> waived altogether. <br /> (c) Existing mmure tree growth and natural land forms on the <br /> site shall be preserved to the maximum extent possible. In <br /> some cases, such as towers sited on large, wooded lots, <br /> natural growth around the property perimeter may be <br /> sufficient buffer. <br /> C. Removal of Abandoned Antennas and Towers. <br /> Any antenna or tower that is not operated for a continuous period of twelve- <br /> ( 12) months shall be considered abandoned, and the owner of such antenna or <br /> tower remove same, and restore the site to its pre- installation condition, <br /> within ninety (90) days of receipt of notice from the Development Services <br /> Director notifying the owner of such abandonment. The notice shall specify <br /> that the owner has the opportunity to request a public hearing on the removal <br /> of the antenna or tower. I such antenna or tower is not removed within said <br /> ninety (90) days, the Development Services Director may remove such <br /> antenna or tower at the owner's expense. If there are two (2) or more users of <br /> a single tower, then this provision shall not become effective until all users <br /> cease using the tower. <br /> Section 4I. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase <br /> or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional <br /> by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect <br /> the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. <br /> 17 <br />
