EXHIBIT A <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING HEATING, VENTILATING, AND AIR CONDITIONING <br /> SYSTEM REHABILITATION <br /> PROJECT SUMMARY <br /> This Agreement is for the investigation, inspection, preparation of design alternatives for <br /> recommendations to provide the City of San Leandro with direction to allow the <br /> improvement and/or replacement of the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems <br /> within City of San Leandro's Public Safety Building (PSB). The intent of the work <br /> included in this agreement is to provide detailed design approaches for the system <br /> rehabilitation alternatives that are presented by the Contractor. The detailed design <br /> approaches shall include sufficient information to allow the preparation of the subsequent <br /> construction documents without further study of the facility. <br /> All work shall be in accordance with all applicable codes and standards. <br /> 2. PROJECT INFORMATION <br /> 2.1 PROJECT LOCATION <br /> The project site is the City of San Leandro's Public Safety Building (Police <br /> Department) located at 901 East 14th Street, San Leandro, within the Civic Center <br /> complex. The building is a three -story structure containing all departments of the <br /> Police Department including but not limited to, Records, Investigation, Traffic, <br /> Evidence, Administration, indoor gun firing range, and detention facility (jail). <br /> The building is an essential services facility operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a <br /> year. The Contractor shall not, at any time, make contact with the Public Safety <br /> Building or its occupants without the express authorization of the Project <br /> Manager. <br /> 2.2 EXISTING CONDITIONS (Public Safety Building Overview) <br /> The City of San Leandro's Public Safety Building is a three story essential <br /> services building housing the City's Police Department that also includes an <br /> indoor gun firing range, and a 10 -cell jail. The building and the original <br /> mechanical system were constructed in the late 1960s. The heating, ventilating <br /> and air conditioning (I -1VAC) system consisted of a central heating and cooling <br /> plant to provide chilled and hot water to three air handling systems.
