With an understanding of the psychological dynamics that <br /> • underlie survey responses and consumer behavior, she is a valuable member of our research <br /> team. <br /> Ms. Fine is also skilled in a number of cutting -edge research techniques, including Internet <br /> surveys and advertisement copy testing. Her most recent international project for Hewlett - <br /> Packard required the survey instrument be made available in three languages and across <br /> multiple channels. Her research provided the company with information to assist their inter- <br /> nal communications staff during the transition from Hewlett- Packard to Agilent'I'echnolo- <br /> gies, as well as future communication needs. In addition, she has presented market research <br /> techniques to our corporate clients. <br /> Ms. Fine has an extensive background in research, research methodology and advanced sta- <br /> tistical techniques. Prior to joining GRA, she conducted research at four universities and in <br /> two countries. She received her B.A in psychology from the University of California, Santa <br /> Barbara and her M.A in Social Psychology from New York University. While at New York Uni- <br /> versity, she gave lectures on Research Methods and Social Psychology Her primary academic <br /> interests included decision making, attitudes, group dynaznics, cultural differences, social <br /> cognition, and statistics. Her specific research projects included research on information - <br /> seeking strategies and cultural differences in self- concepts <br /> Senior Research Analyst Richard Sarles <br /> Mr. Sarles has comprehensive experience in experimental research design and quantitative <br /> and qualitative data analyses. At GRA, he is responsible assisting GRA's staff with proposals <br /> and report writing, sample and questionnaire design as well as data processing. His experi- <br /> ence with a wide variety of clients includes work for local and regional government agencies, <br /> corporate clients and non -profit organizations. <br /> 71vo of Mr. Sarles' most recent projects combine elements of traditional market research with <br /> customer satisfaction. These projects, one for the City of San Jose and one for the Peninsula <br /> Library System, have embraced a difficult challenge in hopes of understanding how tradi- <br /> tional library services can be marketed to communities in the age of the Internet. Mr. Sarles' <br /> recommendations will be distributed to over 200 libraries in California over the next 6 <br /> months and he will accompany Mr. Godbe around the state to present his research and share <br /> his expertise an this issue. <br /> Prior to joining GRA, Mr. Sarles received his B.S. in Psychology from the Illinois State Uni- <br /> versity, graduating with summa cum laude honors. He also received his M.S. in Experimen- <br /> tal Psychology from Illinois State University with magna cum laude honors. His primary <br /> academic interests included interpersonal communication, social-sexual behavior, and <br /> sociobiology.
