Personnel Biographies <br /> working on SCA3 voter research projects for the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments <br /> and the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments. Dr. McLarney has recently com- <br /> pleted public opinion surveys for Kings County and the cities of Lake Forest, Cerritos and <br /> Santa Monica. <br /> Prior to joining GRA, Dr. McLarney worked as a Management Consultant for Quest Consult- <br /> ing and Training Corporation in Monterey, California, a firm that provides organizational <br /> development and training systems to clients such as PE Applied Biosystems, Toshiba, NEC, <br /> Baskin Robbins and the Pebble Beach Company. Dr. tMcLimey has also spent time working <br /> with the Regional Alliance for Progressive Policy, the Monterey Coun Sheriff's Office Crime <br /> Lab, and between 1997 and 1999 was honored as a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Gov- <br /> ernmental Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. <br /> Dr. McLamey holds a M.A. and Ph. 1). in Government from Cornell University, as well as a <br /> bachelor's degree in politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. His academic <br /> training and dissertation research focused on public opinion, public policy and mass politi- <br /> cal behavior, with an emphasis on advanced statistical techniques, sampling design and sur- <br /> vey methodology. Dr. McLarney has presented his research findings at numerous national <br /> conferences, has several articles forthcoming, and lectures on research methodology. <br /> Senior Research Analyst Dr. Amy Flowers <br /> Dr. Flowers specializes in the areas of public policy research and quantitative analysis. She <br /> has developed research methodologies to accommodate a wide range of client objectives, <br /> using focus groups, interviewing and survey research methods. She has extensive experience <br /> in the field of jury research, including mock trials, jury selection, case theme development <br /> and witness preparation. Her clients include Read Consulting, a project regarding the com- <br /> pletion of the 710 freeway in Southern California, the Redwood City School District, the San <br /> Mateo County Sheriffs Office, and the Contra Costa Clean Water Program's Resident Opin- <br /> ion Survey. <br /> Dr. Flowers earned her Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Southern California and a <br /> Bachelor's from the University of California at Berkeley. Her academic research has focused <br /> on communications technology and popular culture. She has published a book and several <br /> • articles on technologically mediated communication which have been reviewed in journals <br /> including the Australian National Review, Publisher's Weekly, and The New Yorker. <br /> Senior Research Analysl Halls Fine <br /> Ms. Fine develops many of GRA's corporate market research projects, including recent <br /> projects for Hewlett- Packard and Agilent Technologies, Microsoft, Bidcom and Lucent Tech- <br /> nologies.
