Strategic Plan — FY 2000 -FY 2004 <br /> City of San Leandro <br /> Page 29 of 35 <br /> Accomplishments <br /> The City anticipates funding the following types of projects: <br /> • Continue the Commercial Design Assistance Program which provides architectural and technical <br /> assistance to property owners and tenants of businesses located in target revitalization areas. The <br /> City targets approximately 10 businesses per year. (Funding: CDBG) <br /> • Blight elimination through the Housing Rehabilitation Program for low- and moderate - income <br /> households. It is anticipated that the Housing Rehabilitation Program will assist approximately 55 <br /> total households per year. (Funding: CDBG) <br /> • Blight elimination through the Commercial Facade Program which will provide assistance to <br /> approximately three businesses per year. (Funding: CDBG) <br /> • Enhance economic vitality through the Neighborhood Shopping Center Revitalization Program. It is <br /> anticipated that two eligible shopping centers will receive revitalization assistance. (Funding: <br /> CDBG, Redevelopment) <br /> • Continue activities that coordinate with the Oakland /San Leandro Joint Revitalization Project. <br /> CDBG is currently funding Oakland Airport gateway improvements. It is anticipated that CDBG <br /> will fund further Oakland Airport gateway improvements and at least two other revitalization <br /> projects. (Funding: CDBG, Redevelopment, special grant funds) <br /> • The City will continue to provide oversight of existing small business loans and will pursue other <br /> economic development activities such as business fairs, workshops and technical assistant. <br /> (Funding: CDBG) <br /> • The City will consider adopting a Neighborhood Strategy Area for the MacArthur Boulevard <br /> corridor to further enhance the City's revitalization strategy options. <br /> Geographic Distribution <br /> All neighborhood revitalization programs will be available in eligible areas throughout the City. The <br /> main focus of the revitalization efforts will be in the Redevelopment Project Areas and Oakland/San <br /> Leandro Joint Revitalization Project Area. <br /> • <br />
