Strategic Plan — FY 2000 -FY 2004 <br /> City of San Leandro <br /> Page 35 of 35 <br /> It is anticipated that the City and Redevelopment Agency will continue to contract with Alameda County <br /> to provide housing rehabilitation services. Tlie City will also work with the County to administer <br /> HOME funds for affordable housing rehabilitation or new construction projects. The City will continue <br /> to contract for Fair Housing, tenant/landlord and Rental Assistance Program services. The <br /> Redevelopment Agency and CDBG staff will continue to work closely with local nonprofit shelter <br /> agencies to identify affordable and transitional housing needs. <br /> Public Services /Capital Improvement Projects <br /> Public Services will be supported by both the CDBG and the City's Community Assistance funds (general <br /> funds); efforts will continue to include the Human Resources Commission and nonprofit agency <br /> directors /members to further improve and evaluate the needs assessment and funding process. CDBG <br /> funds are expected to be made available for nonprofit and City- initiated capital improvement projects. <br /> Nonprofit improvements will be coordinated within the City's development Services, Engineering and <br /> Transportation Departments, and the City Council. <br /> Business Revitalization <br /> Revitalization efforts will continue through the City's Economic Development staff. Staff works closely <br /> with the Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Business Association, the East Bay Small Business <br /> Development Center, surrounding communities, and various economic development organizations to <br /> best determine the City's future needs. It is anticipated that the City will continue funding programs <br /> such as the Neighborhood Shopping Center Revitalization Program and the MacArthur Boulevard <br /> Facade Renovation Program, which will enhance the City's business revitalization efforts. Such <br /> activities will be coordinated with a variety of community'groups, including the Redevelopment <br /> Advisory Committee. <br /> • <br />
