Action Plan - FY2000
City of San Leandro
Page 9
PART II. ACTIVITIES TO BE UNDERTAKEN
INTRODUCTION
This section of the Action Plan includes the proposed housing and community development
activities for FY2000 /2001 to be carried out by the City of San Leandro, in support of the goals
and objectives adopted in the Five -Year Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan is the five -year plans
for fiscal years 2000 through 2004, adopted in May 2000.
The central piece of this section is the Consolidated Plan "Proposed Projects" table. Please refer
to this table for a description of individual activities to be funded with FY 2000/2001 Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. This section also includes a description of how the
City will ensure geographic distribution of its resources, the process by which assistance will be
distributed in the case that an activity location is currently unknown (e.g., residential rehabilitation
programs), activities benefiting homeless and other special needs populations, and other local or
state programs being used to further the City's housing and community development-goals.
Activities undertaken with federal HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds are
described separately in the Alameda County HOME Consortium Action Plan.
FIVE -YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN PRIORITIES
The following section shows how the proposed FY 2000/2001 activities meet the priorities
adopted in the Five -Year Strategic Plan. The proposed activities for FY 2000/2001 are listed
under the related priority need. It should be noted that the priority needs are also addressed
through a variety of other City programs including, Redevelopment and HOME fund programs,
and are not listed in this document.
Affordable Housing Needs
Priority — Increase the availability of affordable rental housing for extremely low -, low -
and moderate - income households.
Priority — Preserve existing affordable rental and ownership housing for low- and
moderate - income households.
✓ Housing Rehabilitation Program, including minor home repair and mobile home repair
grants
