ACTIVITIES TO BE UNDERTAKEN <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> This section of the Action Plan includes the proposed housing and community development <br /> activities for FY2000 /2001 to be carried out by the City of San Leandro, in support of the goals <br /> and objectives adopted in the Five -Year Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan is the five -year plans <br /> for fiscal years 2000 through 2004, adopted in May 2000. <br /> The central piece of this section is the Consolidated Plan "Proposed Projects" table. Please refer <br /> to this table for a description of individual activities to be funded with FY 2000/2001 Community <br /> Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. This section also includes a description of how the <br /> City will ensure geographic distribution of its resources, the process by which assistance will be <br /> distributed in the case that an activity location is currently unknown (e.g., residential rehabilitation <br /> programs), activities benefiting homeless and other special needs populations, and other local or <br /> state programs being used to further the City's housing and community development-goals. <br /> Activities undertaken with federal HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds are <br /> described separately in the Alameda County HOME Consortium Action Plan. <br /> FIVE -YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN PRIORITIES <br /> The following section shows how the proposed FY 2000/2001 activities meet the priorities <br /> adopted in the Five -Year Strategic Plan. The proposed activities for FY 2000/2001 are listed <br /> under the related priority need. It should be noted that the priority needs are also addressed <br /> through a variety of other City programs including, Redevelopment and HOME fund programs, <br /> and are not listed in this document. <br /> Affordable Housing Needs <br /> Priority — Increase the availability of affordable rental housing for extremely low -, low - <br /> and moderate - income households. <br /> Priority — Preserve existing affordable rental and ownership housing for low- and <br /> moderate - income households. <br /> ✓ Housing Rehabilitation Program, including minor home repair and mobile home repair <br /> grants <br />
