MINUTES Page 10 City of San Leandro City Council, San Leandro Hillside Geologic Haiard Abatement District, and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting —July 19, 2010 Vice Mayor Reed echoed comments made by Councilmembers Souza and Prola, thanking members of the audience for their input, and to Fire Chief Gilbert, Police Chief Ian Willis, and Deputy City Manager Jacqui Diaz for their time and efforts to educate the community about the City's fiscal situation. Councilmember Gregory thanked Community Relations Representative Kathy Ornelas for coordinating the City's sponsorship of the recent blood drive, and announced that the City exceeded its donation goal. 1-le attended the Drowning Darryls fundraiser, and the tree removal meeting at Bancroft Middle School. Councilmember Gregory reported that he met with Alameda County Public Health staff and a representative from Superviser Lai- Bitker's Office regarding the possible General Plan Health Element. He also reported on the ACTIA meeting that he attended as Councilmember Starosciak's alternate. Mayor Santos commented on sales tax rates in other areas. He attended the tree removal meeting and the Kaiser groundbreaking. Mayor Santos thanked Councilmembers Gregory and Starosciak for representing the City on the ACTC. He supported the suggestion made by Councilmember Starosciak, and requested that a resolution in support of Proposition 22 be brought to the Council for vote the first meeting in September. Mayor Santos reported that all the State legislators representing Alameda County have been invited to the next Alameda County Mayor's Conference meeting on September 8, to give a report on the State budget, and Senator Corbett has agreed to attend.
