San Leandro Collaborative By Laws Page I San Leandro Collaborative By Laws WHEREAS, the mission of the San Leandro Collaborative for Children, Youth, and their Families, (hereinafter the "SLC "), is to enhance and coordinate partnerships among parents, youth, government, education, business and community organizations that produce the best cultural, recreational, health, and enrichment opportunities in a safe and supportive environment for the children, youth, and families of the greater San Leandro area, and WHEREAS, the San Leandro Collaborative has utilized information and lessons learned from a comprehensive community assessment with input from youth, parents and the community to create the Youth Development Master Plan, an action plan to address the major issues affecting children, youth, and their families in San Leandro, and WHEREAS, the Youth Development Master Plan, is a "work in progress" that will help guide the next phase of work on behalf of San Leandro's children, youth and their families, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following Regulations be and hereby are adopted: I. General Membership A. The General Membership of the SLC shall consist of interested community members. B. Regular meetings of the SLC shall be held semi - annually or as needed at such time and location as may be prescribed by the President of the Steering Committee. The membership shall be notified of all meetings at least one week in advance thereof. C. The General Membership shall serve as a resource bank for the SLC in its implementation of the Youth Development Master Plan. D. General Members must register with the Secretary. Only registered members will be allowed to vote on SLC business, including election of officers. 11. Executive Committee A. The Executive Committee shall be established. The Alameda County District 3 Supervisor, the Mayor of the City of San Leandro, a City Council Member of the City of San Leandro, a San Leandro Unified School District (SLUSD) Board Member, and a San Lorenzo Unified School District (SLzUSD) Board Member shall comprise the Executive Committee and shall serve as voting members of the Executive Committee. The City Manager of the City of San Leandro, the Superintendent of the SLUSD, the Superintendent of the SLzUSD, Staff to the Alameda County District 3 Supervisor, and Secretary of the Steering Committee shall be deemed qualified for and shall be admitted to non - voting membership on the Executive Committee upon qualification in their g:\ dept \commitee \collaborative - bylaws.doc rev. 10/06/00
