San Leandro Collaborative By Laws Page I <br /> San Leandro Collaborative <br /> By Laws <br /> WHEREAS, the mission of the San Leandro Collaborative for Children, Youth, and their <br /> Families, (hereinafter the "SLC "), is to enhance and coordinate partnerships among parents, <br /> youth, government, education, business and community organizations that produce the best <br /> cultural, recreational, health, and enrichment opportunities in a safe and supportive environment <br /> for the children, youth, and families of the greater San Leandro area, and <br /> WHEREAS, the San Leandro Collaborative has utilized information and lessons learned <br /> from a comprehensive community assessment with input from youth, parents and the community <br /> to create the Youth Development Master Plan, an action plan to address the major issues <br /> affecting children, youth, and their families in San Leandro, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Youth Development Master Plan, is a "work in progress" that will help <br /> guide the next phase of work on behalf of San Leandro's children, youth and their families, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following Regulations be and hereby are <br /> adopted: <br /> I. General Membership <br /> A. The General Membership of the SLC shall consist of interested community members. <br /> B. Regular meetings of the SLC shall be held semi - annually or as needed at such time and <br /> location as may be prescribed by the President of the Steering Committee. The <br /> membership shall be notified of all meetings at least one week in advance thereof. <br /> C. The General Membership shall serve as a resource bank for the SLC in its <br /> implementation of the Youth Development Master Plan. <br /> D. General Members must register with the Secretary. Only registered members will be <br /> allowed to vote on SLC business, including election of officers. <br /> 11. Executive Committee <br /> A. The Executive Committee shall be established. The Alameda County District 3 <br /> Supervisor, the Mayor of the City of San Leandro, a City Council Member of the City of <br /> San Leandro, a San Leandro Unified School District (SLUSD) Board Member, and a San <br /> Lorenzo Unified School District (SLzUSD) Board Member shall comprise the Executive <br /> Committee and shall serve as voting members of the Executive Committee. The City <br /> Manager of the City of San Leandro, the Superintendent of the SLUSD, the <br /> Superintendent of the SLzUSD, Staff to the Alameda County District 3 Supervisor, and <br /> Secretary of the Steering Committee shall be deemed qualified for and shall be admitted <br /> to non - voting membership on the Executive Committee upon qualification in their <br /> g:\ dept \commitee \collaborative - bylaws.doc rev. 10/06/00 <br />
