The order reflects priorities as <br /> expressed by a broad survey of community members. including, but not limited to, parents, <br /> young people, county, city and school officials, and members of community based organizations, <br /> the faith community, and the business community. Rather than viewing one goal as more <br /> important than another, each should be considered as an equally vital building block to a better <br /> and stronger San Leandro community for children and their families. In addition, it should be <br /> stressed that in many cases, there are existing programs, services, and agencies /organizations <br /> addressing these needs and making progress towards reaching the goals. <br /> Action Plan Goals <br /> 1. For children and youth to have safe and positive activities before and after school <br /> 2. For children, youth and parents to know what resources are available to them <br /> 3. For youth to have access to employment opportunities and work experiences <br /> 4, For businesses and organizations to have an expanded role as educational partners <br /> 5. For children to have access to quality, affordable child care <br /> 6. For children and youth to have improved access to programs and services <br /> 7. For children, youth and adults to be involved in mentoring relationships <br /> 8. For youth programs to integrate the ideas of young people in design and implementation <br /> 9. For youth and adults to respect and value each other as equal and unique individuals <br /> 10.
