Hollister, City Manager City Manager <br /> FROM: Uchenna Udemezue, P.E., Directo <br /> Engineering and Transportation De artment <br /> BY: Kenneth Joseph, P.E., City Engine <br /> Engineering and Transportation Department <br /> SUBJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WORK FOR THE 2550 DAVIS STREET REMEDIATION <br /> PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 09- 593 -52 -248. <br /> SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends acceptance of the work and filing of the Notice of Completion. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is a commercial /industrial property, located at 2550 Davis Street, and is adjacent to the <br /> Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP). Available information indicates that from the late 1950s <br /> until 2009, the site was occupied by an auto dismantling and resale business. The City filed an <br /> Eminent Domain action to acquire a portion of the parcel and the Order for Possession took <br /> effect on July 8, 2009. In December 2009, the City demolished the structures on the property to <br /> clear the site for the expansion of the WPCP. <br /> On April 19, 2010, by Resolution 2010 -041, the City Council awarded a construction contract to <br /> HSR General Engineering, Inc. for the remediation of the property. <br /> Analysis <br /> Contaminated soil was removed and replaced with suitable material. Construction is complete <br /> and in compliance with the contract documents. The property is now ready for reuse by the <br /> Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) Rehabilitation Project. <br /> Previous City Council Action(s) <br /> • On April 19, 2010, by Resolution 2010 -041, the City Council awarded the Construction <br /> Contract to HSR General Engineering, Inc. for this project <br />
