CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> CITY COUNCIL FACILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE <br /> September 14, 2010 <br /> 4:00 p.m.— 5:30 p.m. <br /> San Leandro City Hall <br /> 835 East 14 Street <br /> San Leandro, California <br /> Sister Cities Gallery <br /> HIGHLIGHTS <br /> Committee Members: Councilmember Gregory, Councilmember Souza (Chair) <br /> City staff present: Keith Cooke, Steve Hollister, Ken Joseph, Kathy Ornelas, Luke <br /> Sims, Pauline Tabilang, Nick Thom, Uche Udemezue <br /> Public present: None <br /> The meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m. <br /> Discussion Regarding Project Updates <br /> Ken Joseph gave a PowerPoint presentation regarding project updates. <br /> o East 14 Street Median <br /> • Paving of 136 to 141 Avenues will be completed this week <br /> • By next week, the project area will return to its pre - construction configuration <br /> • Landscaping is scheduled to start in October 2010 <br /> • <br /> o 13ancroft Avenue Rehabilitation <br /> • Work on Bancroft Avenue will done concurrently with the East 14` Median <br /> Project <br /> • Traffic southbound on Bancroft Avenue will be diverted to East 14` Street <br /> • Stan date is October 2010 and will require only a couple of weeks to complete <br /> • Lateral gas and water issues to work around <br /> o Toyon Park Playground <br /> • Site preparation, including concrete drainage was completed in August <br /> • Project is funded by a KaBoom! grant <br /> • Currently, there are over 200 people scheduled to help build the playground on <br /> September 18, 2010 <br /> • Benches and other small stand -alone projects are planned for the park <br /> • Approval of a sole source agreement for restrooms is scheduled for Council on <br /> October 4, 2010 <br />
