B. Description of Project Team
in South San Francisco Bay, the largest wetland restoration on the West
Coast. In the course of project work, she coordinates with federal, state and
local agencies, NGOs, stakeholder groups, local and national science panels,
and academic advisors. Michelle will be the lead for envisioning the possible
habitat futures of the DMMS. At present, we believe that these will be
centered on improving the biological functioning of the site in a way that
might avoid the need to off -haul any of the recently deposited dredged
sediments, that will be self- sustaining, that will minimize the need for
ongoing management, and that this task will be an exercise in optimizing the
regulatory and mitigation benefits of habitat restoration for the City and the
larger project area.
Patrick Miller, ASIA (2M Associates) - Project Planner and
Economic Analyst
Patrick Miller is a recreation planner and licensed Landscape Architect.
He specializes in wildland and urban open space planning, public access
planning, park planning, public facility design and interpretive programming.
With 36 years of experience, Patrick has been responsible for master
planning and designing a long list of open spaces, parks, and trails
throughout the west. He is particularly experienced in facilitating planning
processes and preparing plans that enhance habitat values and in resolving
site issues related to public access and wildlife compatibility. His shoreline
•
and coastal experience includes being the lead designer for the Hamilton
Wetland Restoration Project, The Berkeley Bay trail Extension Project
through the southern shoreline of the Berkeley marina, the San Mateo
Shoreline Parks, and the Dutch Slough Tidal Marsh Restoration Project
Public Access and Community Park Concept Plan. In the majority of his
work he typically prepares cost projections to evaluate the feasibility of
altematives vis -a -vis capitol improvements and ongoing operations and
management. Patrick will be the task lead for potential recreational uses
and land use compatibility. His perspective will be the starting point for
conceptualizing the alternatives and assigning them relative costs and
revenue sources.
Dilip Trivedi, PE (Moffat & Nichol) — Hydrology / Sedimentation /
Marina Reuse
Dr. Trivedi brings over 20 years of experience in civil and coastal
engineering, with emphasis on leading technical studies as well as
implementing projects on the waterfront. His experience includes planning,
design, and construction support for projects related to urban waterfront
development, restoration of wetlands and fluvial systems, and marina
operations. He has used sophisticated numerical methods including wave,
B-4 City or San Leandro Harbor Bastin Attemames Srudy RFP 50536
