IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2010-128 <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING MEASURE M, <br /> SAN LEANDRO SPORTS FACILITIES SCHOOL BOND <br /> WHEREAS, on the November 2010 ballot, the San Leandro Unified School District will <br /> be asking voters to consider Measure M, which is a 550.1 million school bond that will fund a <br /> complete makeover of the Pacific Sports Complex, Burrell field and the San Leandro High School <br /> pool, to save them from closure, plus a district -wide renovation of basic fitness facilities and fields <br /> at all of the District's schools; and <br /> WHEREAS, if approved by voters, Measure M will provide funding for much needed <br /> improvements to school pools, bleachers, and locker rooms; tracks and fields; soccer, baseball and <br /> softball fields; tennis courts; blacktop play areas; walking paths; as well as safety, security, and <br /> energy efficiency improvements District wide; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has demonstrated by policies and programs the <br /> importance of providing health and fitness opportunities for the youth of our community whenever <br /> possible; and <br /> WHEREAS, the improvements and modernizations resulting from Measure M will benefit <br /> San Leandro students, improve the quality of physical education in schools, and enhance safety for <br /> students and the community as a whole. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE to <br /> support Measure M. <br /> Introduced by Councilmember Prola and passed and adopted this 4th day of October, 2010, <br /> by the following called vote: <br /> Members of the Council: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza, Starosciak, Stephens; <br /> Mayor Santos (7) <br /> NOES: None (0) <br /> ABSENT: ` None (0) <br /> I <br /> ATTEST: Want v1-Co.. , <br /> Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
