PUI3LIC COMMENTS <br /> Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the Mayor. <br /> When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the <br /> City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and <br /> addresses obtained. The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest NOT <br /> listed on the Agenda. <br /> Tom Saunders, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting on the <br /> City's oversized vehicle parking ordinance, which restricts street parking of recreational <br /> vehicles (RVs). Mr. Saunders stated that he believed the ordinance was illegal, and provided <br /> copies of a petition to the City Council, signed by RV users opposed to the City's RV parking <br /> restriction. <br /> Audrey Albers, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting on a past <br /> situation involving a construction crew that was unaware of the gas line at the intersection of <br /> Fairway and Doolittle. Ms. Albers suggested that the City identify and inform residents of the <br /> locations of all the gas lines in the city. <br /> Edward Mejia - Sarate, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting on <br /> the development at the marina and the meetings of the Shoreline Development Citizens <br /> Advisory Committee (CAC). Mr. Mejia -Sarate read from a CAC member's letter, stating that <br /> the Committee's input was ignored, and he asked why the promised sidewalks and other <br /> public improvements have not yet been made. <br /> 6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> In response to Mr. Saunders' comments, Mr. Hollister reported that the oversized vehicle <br /> ordinance limits on- street RV parking to three times per year with a permit. It was the <br /> consensus of the Council to refer the matter to the City Council Rules and Communications <br /> Committee for discussion. <br /> Mr. Hollister addressed Ms. Albers' comments, reporting that City staff is aware of the jet <br /> fuel line running along Fairway Drive. Staff is arranging to have PG&E come to a future City <br /> Council or Facilities and Transportation Committee meeting, to provide an update on the <br /> condition of gas lines in the city. He expressed appreciation to Ms. Albers for bringing the <br /> issue to the Council's attention. <br /> Regarding Mr. Mejia - Sarate's comments, Mr. Hollister reported on the upcoming Shoreline <br /> Development CAC meeting on October 12, town hall meetings, and other plans and activities <br /> related to the marina development planning process. He noted that the process has been a <br /> very open one. Mr. Hollister commented on the various plans and proposals for the marina. <br />
